Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE)

Secondary Years - Grades 9 and 10
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Education administers the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ICSE). The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate established the Council in 1958. The ICSE Examination has been designed to provide a course of general education in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986.

At Dr. Pillai Global Academy, your child will take certain compulsory subjects and also select subjects of interest to them from a large choice. All students will study English, a Second language, Social studies, Maths and Science. Socially Useful and Productive Work and Community Service play an important part in the programme. Grade 10 students take the ICSE Examination in March-April.

By following this curriculum, we strongly adhere to the ethos of the Council:

  • Freedom to experiment with new ideas and practices.
  • Diversity and plurality - the basic strength of evolution of ideas.
  • Motivating students towards the cultivation of excellence - The Indian Experience.
  • Values spiritual and cultural - to be the bed rock of educational experience.
  • And be sensitive to national aspirations.
The ICSE syllabus is constantly reviewed and updated to make it more learner- friendly and relevant to life and society.
